Officially: Established in 1883 as part of the westward expansion of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad. We are located in central Washington where we enjoy four seasons punctuated by crisp cold winters and nice warm dry summers.

Unofficially, Kittitas is one of those places you end up when whatever web mapping service decides that you need to save 30 seconds by taking a completely unneccesary shortcut. Its also where you end up when you mix up the Vantage and Kittitas Highways trying to get to see the spring wildflowers in the shrub steppe. It is home to the best coffee in Lower County*, one of the best breakfast spots you'll ever go to and the coolest hole-in-the-wall used bookstore.
