Snoqualmie Pass is at the western-most end of Kittitas County. The King and Kittitas County line goes through the middle but Im not in mood for splitting hairs. Its claim to fame is the Summit At Snoqualmie Resort which includes Summit West, Summit East, Summit Central and Alpental. The wee village of Hyak is nestled on the eastern side at the base of Summit East. Its a popular pit stop for backcountry recreationists, hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail and if you're heading east, the last clean public restroom before Seattle. The ski bums of the real eastside rejoice when eastbound 90 closes during snowstorms and we get all of that fresh powder to ourselves. Its scenery is stunning as you pass over the Cascade Crest whichever way you're going.
